my friend sue is going to africa next month, so she wanted to practise shooting animals with her new big lens, so i tagged along and we went to taronga zoo. a lot of the big animals were sleeping, except this tiger, we were lucky, he came right up to the glass, it was awesome. i like tigers …

35L | long reef beach

the 35L probably doesn’t mean much to most people but its a lovely canon lens, one of their best. i’ve been dreaming about getting this lens for a long time and decided to buy it last week. took richard, my very unwilling model, to long reef beach last night for some test shots and also to check out the location for saturday’s photo shoot. it was such a gorgeous evening. {now the 50L is my next dream lens}

yesterday i went into the city to meet the lovely narelle, she was up from melbourne to attend the jasmin star workshop. i was very jealous as it sounded fantastic. we explored the city with our camera’s, so much fun, and so many interesting places that can be used for family photography. fav images of the day.

Went exploring today, Rozelle, Leichhardt and Balmain, as well as Callan Park and Gladesville Mental hospital.. all very interesting. I think I am going to start a personnal project, each month take my camera out to a different suburb in Sydney and see what I discover..

Walkabout with the lensbaby

Well I bought the lensbaby {the 3G} last year and its remained in its box until yesterday, where I dragged it out, put it on the old 5d and took it round the streets of Manly. Its a hard lens to use, its manual focus and only part of the image is in focus and you decide which bit or it decides, enables you to be very creative!

Here are the ones from yesterday walkabout, and today I played with the lensbaby at the end of my maternity session this morning, love clients that let me experiment, its a great way of coming up with something a bit different. But anyway that might be tomorrows post.

Went into the city today to pick up a new lens. So took a few shots on the way home to the ferry. Nearly finished proofing the wedding I did in Vancouver, so hopefully I will share some of the photobooth pics very soon, it was so much fun!
