don’t touch that dslr!

the two photogs have set a challenge this month, to take photos with an iphone, a point and shoot, an old polaroid, a zumi, a diana or an instax, but not an dslr. so i thought i would enter it as the prize is a fuji instax mini and i really really want one of these.

so, i don’t have a iphone but my partner does. I have downloaded a couple of apps, and my favourite is the hipstamatic, which makes the photos look like they have been taken with an old film camera. you can also have a different lens for a different look. i like the fact that all the processing is done in phone and i don’t have to spend any time in photoshop!

here are the three for the challenge

and these are other ones i quite liked, all taken around manly.

favs from 2009

finally put a slideshow together of some of my fav portraits from 2009, which you can see here. i’ve realised that i now need to update my website, which i shall work on during jan. its a massive task as you can imagine, and i’m quite indescisive, so takes me a while to decide what images to include.

2009

i also want to sell more art prints this year. i have a market stall most sundays at manly arts and craft market. i’m doing one this sunday, and am thinking of doing 2 a month or something like that. except end of may and june as hoping to be in europe on holiday. i took a few snaps of my last market with the P&S

if you can’t make the market or live out of town then you can always check out my etsy store. i’m adding something new to it each day, so check back regularly!

sydney walkabout

yesterday i went into the city to meet the lovely narelle, she was up from melbourne to attend the jasmin star workshop. i was very jealous as it sounded fantastic. we explored the city with our camera’s, so much fun, and so many interesting places that can be used for family photography. fav images of the day.

i came across these 2 quotes the other day, they are both so true and elliott erwitt has to be one of my fav photographers.

all the technique in the world doesn’t compensate for the inability to notice. – Elliott Erwitt,

to me, photography is an art of observation. it’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…. i’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. – elliott erwitt

the f family| maternity photographer
